This was a great app and have used it for a year extensively. In March the track recorder started just logging straight lines between points the recording the track for a bit and then recording a straight line again. This seemed to stop, but this last week this has been painful, I cannot record a track at all. It is pity as I really enjoyed using this app.

I've been using this app for years and IMO it's the best offline hiking map app out there. It's full of excelent features, I'm still finding new ones, GPS tracking is fast and precise and battery consumption is super low! I keep my phone in airplane mode with GPS on and it could probably last some 3 days (s20) if you don't use it for anything else.

Excellent app for orientation with basic and advances features. Pay once to buy instead of the now classic monthly subscription payment, and recommendation by experienced fellow mountaneers is what brought me to alpineQuest and I'm glad It did. I recommend it

Excellent app, highly recommended as my personal favorite hiking app. I love the map customization layers, multiple base map options, the downloading sections of the map to plan ahead for no service areas. The export and import features are great to get GPX or other format data into and out of the map and sync back to my Garmin and strava fitness logs. Be sure to set permissions to keep logger going when screen is off. Kudos to the developers on a great product, keep up the great work!

This is hands down the best offline navigation and mapping app available, unfortunately only on Android. The next best alternative is a dedicated handheld GPS. We use the app for geo and mining field work.

If you're like me and tried a lot of offline map apps for hiking specifically and never found that Goldilocks "just right" one, then stop right here and purchase AlpineQuest. The base offline map collection (including topo) is so strong you don't need to buy external maps which is a major frustrating issue with many others, pay 4 bucks for the app and then have to pony up 50 more for add-on maps. You can adjust the opacity of map layers too which allows you to create and save a favourite of contour lines, hill shadings and trails to your liking. You can create your own trails and export them in any of the major formats from .GPX to .KML with ease. I tested this on a 12 K hill hike and worked flawlessly.

Don't make the same mistake as me. Although the developers state that Alpinequest can be used with Memory Map files, this is only true for the older styles of maps (qct). If you look carefully at the compatibility table on their website AQ cannot use the new MM files (qc3) which I use so the app is really useless for me, though it does have good features for those who don't need MM compatibility.

One of the best offline maps App. If possible following features can be added 1. Simultaneously setting two targets, so that info regarding distance and bearing of two different targets can be shown . 2. Timestamping for the Track recording to know the time at which we were at that particular position on the track. It will be very helpful features if added. Thanks

Use to be dependable tracking app for hiking in the backcountry. Had no problems for years. Became "pro" from a update. Now it's worthless. It's failed to track my path properly the last 3-4 times i used it. If I was depending on it to get out, I would have got lost. This is a bad review. Avoid this app, could get you killed if your depending on it.
